Glossary
Glossary: a personal access token (PAT) authenticates scripts and CI/CD pipelines with the Management API as the user who created it.
A personal access token authenticates with the Management API without an OAuth login flow, which suits automated scripts, CI/CD pipelines and other programmatic access. Each token acts on behalf of the user who created it and has that user's permissions, so if the user's access changes, the token's access changes too.
Tokens last at most two years and can be invalidated at any time. The secret is shown only once, when you create the token. Tokens are created through the Management API by a user signed in with OAuth, and cannot create other tokens or manage users.
Also called: PAT.
