Kids Club, a loyalty program for Chapman's Ice Cream customers, unveiled a new website designed and built by Brushfire North on the Agility CMS Platform.

The website is an interactive online playground for kids (and adults, too). It features fun games and activities that reward users with points that can be redeemed for Chapman?s merchandise, gift certificates and more.

The loyalty program has been a long-running success for Chapman's, and it has gained over 100,000 registered users over the past several years.

Brushfire North, a Toronto-based digital services studio, was approached by Chapman's in early 2012 to build a new version of the site using HTML 5 instead of Flash.

"We were fresh off the launch of the new Chapman's corporate website and were eager to get to work on delivering a completely re-imagined and modernized Kids Club with some pretty neat tricks," Michael McKinnon, Co-founder and COO of Brushfire North, said. "The result is a new Kids Club packed with great new features that the modern web brings us, especially the ability for us to recreate these great classic games with plugin-less technologies. The performance is excellent and the overall effect the website has is really quite special."

The Kids Club website currently has six games: Space Monkey, Jigsaw Puzzle, Solitaire, Ice Cream Picasso, Leaning Tower of Ice Cream and Breakout.

"There are more games in the works, and plans are underway to create a mobile specific Kids Club website that compliments the desktop site. It will provide games and experiences unique to mobile devices, using such technologies as the accelerometer, gyroscopes and even augmented reality," McKinnon said.

The website also features an Ice Cream Calculator, a tool that adds up how much ice cream is needed for a party guest list; and the activities center includes a Birthday Planner, coloring print outs and a quiz.

Users can also use the site to order free Chapman's calendars. The site is integrated with Canada Post address verification to minimize incorrect postal addresses for fulfillment.

An innovative guardian function is enabled for users under the age of 13. A guardian must approve their registration and complete their profile before Chapman's can contact them.

All of these features culminate into a unique user experience. "Kids Club is an amazing base to a loyalty program that really has no boundaries. It?s something unlike anything in this industry," McKinnon said.

The decision to build the new Kids Club website on the Agility CMS Platform was an easy one for Brushfire North.

"We chose Agility for a few reasons. The site is bi-lingual, and Agility does that really well. Agility also offers scalable cloud hosting for both sites and user generated content, which was also important. Finally, the support customers get from the SAAS-based solution was a good fit for Chapman's. It took a few issues off the IT team's plate,? McKinnon said.
