# Workflow

A **workflow** controls the review process content goes through before it is published. When approvals are turned on for a page or a content list, an editor requests approval, a reviewer is notified and approves or declines it (declined items go back with notes), and approved content can then be published.

Approvals are enabled per page (**Requires Approval** in its properties) and per content list (**Enable Approval Workflow** in its developer settings). Who can approve and publish depends on each user's role.
