# Webhook

A **webhook** tells an external system that something changed in your instance. Agility sends an HTTP `POST` with a JSON payload to each URL you list in **Settings > Webhooks**, for the events you choose: content publish, content save and content workflow events, for both content items and pages.

The payload says what changed (IDs, state and locale), not the new content, so fetch the content from the API. Unpublishing and deleting both arrive with the state `Deleted`. Deliveries can be signed and retried, both opt-in per webhook.
