# Fetch API

The **Content Fetch API** is the REST API that delivers the content and pages in your instance: content items, content lists, pages with their components, and sitemaps. It is hosted by Agility and served through a global CDN. Every request is a `GET` and every response is JSON.

Requests use the `fetch` API type with a fetch key to read published content, or the `preview` type with a preview key to read staging content. SDKs for JavaScript, .NET and several frameworks wrap it.
