# Content List

A **content list** is a container of content items that all use the same content model, such as a list of blog posts or authors. Content lists live in the **Content** section, outside any single page, so the same items can be used on many pages and read by other apps through the API.

You create a content list from a content model's **Usage** panel. A model can also be restricted to a single content item instead of a list. In the Fetch API and GraphQL API, a list is read by its reference name.

**Also called:** list, container. A single entry in a list is a content item.
