# Component

A **component** is one building block on a page, such as a hero, a text block or a list of posts. It is created from a component model and holds that model's field values. Editors add, remove and reorder components in a page's zones.

Your site renders each component with matching front-end code. A component can hold its own fields or display content items from the Content section through linked content.
